My daughter is coming up on her 2nd birthday tomorrow,
It will be a happy time,
Because she doesn't know what has happened,
She thinks that the would is great.
She doesn't know about King, Kennedy, or Woodstock,
Races, Riots, or Vietnam,
No Nixon, Spiro, or Melvin Laird,
And to top it off--she doesn't know hate.
She doesn't know prejudice or the H-bomb,
Nor does she know about napalm,
No poverty, hunger, and disease,
She just knows love from her Mother and me.
